Our Product

We grow 170 acres of Devon wheat thatching reed a year. The main varieties of reed we grow are Maris Widgeon and Titicale, however, we have grown other varieties if requested by our customers. We produce long straw as well as combed reed.

The growing of the reed is managed by us directly, to ensure the quality and longevity of our reed. We grow the reed only for the purpose of thatching. The amount of nitrate put in the land is maintained at a minimal amount. A specialised agronomist advises us about chemicals which may be required and we maintain detailed records of when, where and the amount of chemical that has been used, which are available for inspection.

We guarantee the high quality of our product as we only supply our own reed.
